through Yoga and Music
with Ron Reid and Marla Meenakshi Joy
SwahaYoga embodies the qualities of integration and devotion, and encourages each individual to explore their full potential in themselves, on all levels.
As we unfold the freedom of our spirit we move “out of the box” of limited consciousness into inspired creative awareness, One with that Divine field of limitless potential and expression.
Inspired by Ashtanga vinyasa yoga and informed by intelligent “natural body” alignment principles, SwahaYoga is designed ultimately to tap the creative spark within, and approach Yoga from all sides of the Eight-limbed practice.
On this glorious retreat in Sicily we will begin the day with a Mysore style practice or a Led Practice, suitable for all levels…with easier modifications for beginners, and more challenging variations for the intermediate or advanced student. Working on your asana practice with Ron is like looking under the microscope with the vision of a true genius!
In the afternoons we will explore chanting and mantra’s, as well as some Restorative/Yoga Nidra practice to facilitate deep healing and integration. We will study the Vijnana Bhairava Tantric text, a gorgeous scripture with Shiva teaching his beautiful consort Parvati about meditation and how to realize the Self.
Enjoying wonderful food, and a few trips to nearby sites, as well as great company of fellow yogins, this week offers a time to delve deep into the gift of your spiritual practice on all levels.
About the Location
Borgo degli Aranci is surrounded by a wonderful garden as well as a beautiful orange grove which ensure complete privacy.
A visit here is the perfect opportunity to discover true Sicilian hospitality and experience authentic Sicily.
Borgo degli Aranci is reached by a long track running through the organic orange groves and boasts fabulous views in all directions.
The views from the gardens to the sea are interrupted only by large expanses of orange groves, while in the opposite direction, you will become hypnotized by the sight of Mount Etna.
Accommodation at Borgo degli Aranci is spread over 3 buildings: Cedro, Mandarino and Pompelmo.
The large and subtly designed pool fits well with the lawned terracing and the buildings. There are plenty of shaded areas for outdoor dining and relaxing. There’s a large covered patio beetwen the houses, furnished with a dining-table and chairs, overlooks the swimming pool and the orange groves
Shared double bedrooms, brunch and dinner is served, we can make tea and snacks in the kitchen, and we get to taste local products.
We try to arrange to be picked up together. //Therese.
